Marriage and Luck… No Such Thing!

There’s two things that I hear way to often from people who haven’t even gotten to know us or our story. 1. You’re too young to be married 2. You can’t give your input; your life is just perfect luck. I beg to differ on both of those topics. Marriage isn’t about an age, or timeline or even the length of dating. Marriage is about finding your God made life-partner you want to wake up every day and conquer life with. The godly man/woman you want to support when they are weak and the person that will support you when you are weak. The person that gives 100% (which may not look like your 100% but accept that it’s theirs). I found the man who enhanced my life, because I was already content with my life and myself. I did NOT find a man to complete me. At the age of 16 I understood that my happiness came from myself and no man and no friend could tell me my worth, my beauty, or my path in life. I found a man who wanted to partner with me, fight along side of me and live everyday on the same path as me. So, I would say no I am not too young to be married, I just happen to be spiritually and mentally healthy enough to invest in someone else. On top of being young, I have no right to give my input to single people because my life is just perfect. Stop right there. My life is not perfect, but in my defense, you don’t want to hear me answer your questions. For people who are single and want to believe our love was luck, you’ll learn one day that it was hard work. Every single day. Love doesn’t just happen on luck. God brought Jonathan to my high school and allowed us to meet knowing we would be strong enough to withstand anything that came out way as long as we were on the same team. I want single people to understand that how you meet the right man or woman might seem like “luck” but there is no luck in that. “Luck” won’t keep you going. God believer or not, hard work and investing in a relationship is going to keep you together not the luck that “two perfect people just met”.
